The Whitlams with Toowoomba Concert Orchestra | Empire Theatre, QLD

The Whitlams joins the Toowoomba Concert Orchestra in a performance of its renowned symphonic collaboration on Saturday 6 June. The show debuted in 2004, and has developed in style and complexity as new albums have been released.

This retrospective will see the orchestra share centre stage, playing a wide palate of styles written by many of Australia's finest composers. Notably, Tim Freedman's friendship with the late Peter Sculthorpe is marked by two gorgeous arrangements.

Classic compositions including "No Aphrodisiac" and "Blow Up the Pokies" will be joined by highlights of The Whitlams' 2020s resurgence with a song from each of the two recent albums, "Sancho" (2022), and Americana influenced, “Kookaburra" (2024).
